My daughter wants to go trick or treating as the gull

CCallum ReidYesterday5 replies2

She's just told me she wants to be the gull for Halloween. Derek, specifically. With the flat cap.

I write video games for a living. I can't sew. Any ideas that don't involve a sewing machine?

this is the best thing i've ever heard. i will personally supply a flat cap from the lost property box at work, we have about four

  2. I made a lot of costumes in thirty-one years of school plays, Callum. A white hoodie, wings cut from a cardboard box and covered in white and grey paper feathers, and a yellow paper beak on an elastic band. Paper plates work well for the feathers if you cut them into strips. No sewing needed.

she has to carry a chip. or a sandwich. it's not the gull without stolen food

Maggie, that's brilliant, thank you, we're doing that this weekend. Nell, she's already said she wants a real sausage roll. Jordan, yes please to the cap.

Three kids here and two of them want to be dinosaurs again. I'd swap you for one gull.

What this place is

The forum is free, the writing studio is the reason it exists

ChapterMuse is a desktop app for writing novels. Not a folder of documents and not a browser tab: one room holding the plan, the cast, the places, the research, the draft, the revision history and the finished files, all of it on your own computer. Rename a character in chapter one and the profiles, the prose and the exports follow.

It runs on Windows and macOS, works with the network off, and is bought once rather than rented: £24, £36 or £48 for a lifetime licence. AI runs on credits you only buy if you use them.

Your book is a file on your own machine. Nothing to renew, no outage that can reach your draft, and it still opens if we disappear.

30 days, everything unlocked, no card.
