About ChapterMuse
Built for writing
Growing with you
An independent app
A community just beginning
ChapterMuse is a desktop app for writing novels. It keeps your manuscript and research on your computer, brings planning and story-world tools into your workspace, and offers AI-assisted conversations, reports and guidance to help you develop your story.
From the first idea to the next draft, you choose how much support to use. The aim is to help you find your way forward while keeping the pen in your hand.
The person behind it
Hello, I'm Paul
Creator of ChapterMuse
I started building ChapterMuse because I wanted a secure place to keep my own novel on my own computer. I wanted my research close to the book, with a way to ask questions about it and explore ideas without having a tool write my prose for me.
I wanted insightful reports and guidance right in the workspace. Something to help me see a way through when I felt stuck, while keeping the pen in my hand. That is the idea at the heart of ChapterMuse: support for the writer, with the writing still yours.
ChapterMuse is new, and so is this community. If you are here at the beginning, you have a chance to help shape what comes next. Tell me what works for you, what gets in your way, and what you wish you could do.
You are welcome to take part whether or not you use the app. A question, an honest bit of feedback, or a conversation about your writing is a good place to start.

with you
You don't need to own ChapterMuse to help build a community here.
Share what you are working on. Talk through a difficult chapter. Ask for advice or offer some of your own. You don't need to be published, experienced, or ready to show your work.
Every community starts with a first conversation. We'd love you to be part of ours.
