AI Tokens

A simple credit balance for the AI-powered features, with every charge visible in your history.

Here is the simple rule: only the features that call out to cloud AI cost anything. Everything else runs entirely on your own computer and is free. The AI features draw from a small pool of AI Tokens. Fixed-price tools show the exact cost and ask you to confirm first. Muse is metered differently because one reply can make several model calls: it charges the measured cost after each response and keeps the running spend visible in its header.

  • Muse — chat, deep craft actions, scans, and conversation compaction

  1. 1Start an AI-powered action — say, analysing a chapter.
  2. 2A confirmation appears showing the exact cost and your current balance.
  3. 3Click Run to spend the credits, or Cancel to back out — nothing is charged until you confirm.
  4. 4Low on credits? Top up from the same prompt, or open Credits from your avatar menu.
  5. 5Desktop top-ups open secure checkout in your browser. The app waits for payment and confirms when your credits have been added. Return to the same checkout or cancel it from the waiting screen; closing the app window does not cancel payment.

How Credits Work

  • Fixed-price AI tools show their cost up front, plus your balance before and after
  • Muse charges its measured cost after each response and shows the balance, session spend, and last-response cost in its header; live balances count down after use and up after a top-up or refund
  • Muse reserves available credits for each model call, including each step of a continuity check. Reserved credits cannot be spent by another AI tool at the same time
  • Stop prevents further Muse steps. A model call already in progress finishes accounting in the background and its measured usage is charged, even if you close the app
  • Continuity checks reserve credits for each chapter read and the final report. Completed AI calls are charged even if a later step fails or the generated report cannot be read
  • If a provider connection fails before usage can be verified, the affected credits stay reserved for support review rather than being charged an invented amount. Contact support if a reservation remains after the run has ended
  • If you don't have enough, the prompt offers to top up the amount you need
  • Top up from your avatar menu: pick a pack, and checkout opens in your browser — the app never handles your card
  • UK credit pack reference prices including VAT: 500 credits for £6, 1,000 credits for £12, 2,000 credits for £24
  • Prices start from the UK amount before VAT: £20 / £30 / £40 for Light / Writer / Studio, £5 per month for Cloud, and £5 / £10 / £20 for 500 / 1,000 / 2,000 credits. Checkout adds the tax for your billing location
  • The website estimates local totals using Stripe exchange-rate quotes and reference country tax rates. It automatically uses your network country where available, then your browser region
  • Estimated totals include country tax where available. Canada shows a provincial range; where a local tax-inclusive total is unavailable, UK tax-inclusive reference prices are shown. Stripe confirms the final tax and exchange rate at checkout. Currency lookup failures show prices in GBP instead
  • Purchases use Stripe Managed Payments, with Stripe acting as merchant of record and handling tax and invoicing
