Writing Tools
Open the Review menu inside any book to bring these panels alongside your prose.

Your writing tools live one click away, in the Review menu at the top-right of the editor. Some run entirely on your machine and cost nothing; others call on AI and draw from your credits. You can keep several open at once — a proofreader down one side, a pulse map along the bottom — and they all point back to the exact paragraph in your manuscript. Alongside them, Muse is your AI companion, open anywhere with Ctrl/⌘-M.
The Tools
- Muse — an AI companion that knows your whole world and proposes additions you approve (Ctrl/⌘-M)
- Chapter Check — fiction-tuned spelling, dialect, glossary, and consistency, entirely on-device
- Chapter Analysis — deep AI craft feedback on pacing, voice, and character
- Chapter Pulse — a visual curve of your chapter's narrative energy
- Prose Metrics — genre-relative readability and craft signals, live as you write
- Word Cloud — your chapter's vocabulary, sized by frequency
- Manuscript Lens — a book-wide read of world, threads, prose habits, and echoes
- Podcast — two hosts discussing a chapter or your whole story world, as audio you can play back
- Read aloud — a private, on-device voice that reads your manuscript to you
How They Behave
- On-device tools (Chapter Check, Prose Metrics, Word Cloud, Read aloud) are free and private
- AI tools — Chapter Analysis, Chapter Pulse, Podcast, and the AI layer of Manuscript Lens — confirm a token cost before running
- Click any finding to jump the manuscript to that spot and highlight it
- Several panels can be open together without fighting for space
