Miles and Milly discuss your writing in a generated two-host episode you can listen back to.
Updated
Sometimes the most useful feedback is hearing two people talk about your book. The Podcast panel generates an episode in which its hosts, Miles and Milly, discuss either the chapter you are writing or your story world as a whole. It is audio you can put on while you walk — and hearing your own plot described back to you catches things a written note never does.
✦Quick start
- 1Open Podcast from the Review menu, or press Ctrl Shift P.
- 2Click New episode — the source opens on Chapter, with Story World as the other choice.
- 3For a chapter episode, confirm the chapter; it defaults to the one you are reading.
- 4For Story World, choose an overview or a topic, add any names or question, and optionally include matching manuscript and research passages.
- 5Confirm the credit cost, then Generate — the episode builds in the background while you carry on writing.
- 6Play it from the library when it is ready.
Two Kinds of Episode
- Chapter — the hosts discuss one chapter of your manuscript
- Story World — they discuss the wider world: your cast, your places, and the shape of the continuity
- Every episode for the book sits in one library, newest first, with no separate tabs to hunt through
- Story World episodes carry their own world-map artwork, so the two kinds stay easy to tell apart at a glance
Choosing a Story World Topic
- Choose a whole-world overview, characters and arcs, relationships and conflicts, locations, factions and power, lore and world rules, items and artefacts, history and timeline, or your own question
- An overview balances the available categories; a focused topic gives the relevant cards more space, with supporting context from related categories
- Names and questions guide which profiles and profile sections are included. Earlier episode coverage helps an overview find fresh ground; an explicit topic or question takes priority
- The source material comes from this book’s in-scope world cards, lore, timeline and Plot Grid plans. Optional supporting passages are selected from the local manuscript and research index
- Each episode uses bounded extracts, rather than reading every word of the world or manuscript. The hosts receive a coverage note and must not treat an omitted detail as missing worldbuilding or a planned event as something already written
- Choosing a topic or including matching passages does not add an AI research call or change the displayed Story World price. One script-writing call plans and writes the conversation before its audio is rendered
Listening & Housekeeping
- Play, pause, and resume from the panel, with an optional sound-wave display that follows the recording’s playback position and eases into a central swell
- The player prepares the sound wave locally before starting the recording, so it is ready from the first audible word
- Retry an episode that failed, or delete one you no longer want
- A retry keeps the episode’s chosen Story World topic and question
- Generating an episode uses AI Tokens; the cost is shown and confirmed before anything runs, and you can top up from the same prompt
- Scripts and audio attempts have firm budgets. Up to three episodes can render at once. Failed episodes are refunded and do not consume a daily retry allowance
- Chapter and Story World episodes have room for approximately ten minutes when there is enough relevant material, with most of the time devoted to substantive discussion. Sparse material may produce a shorter episode; playback length varies with delivery. The script plans its length and complete ending from the outset, and completed dialogue is never cut down to fit
- If billing is temporarily unavailable, a refund is shown as pending until it can be confirmed
- Finished audio is compressed on your own machine to the most portable format your device can both make and play — AAC/MP4 first, then Opus/WebM — and the original is only replaced when the result is genuinely smaller
- Clear episode audio you no longer need from Settings then Storage & data

For a deeper conversation, name a character, place or faction and ask a specific question. An episode uses selected extracts, so check the underlying cards before treating a gap in the discussion as a gap in your world.
